Crafty Fox Market: Samples & Seconds Sale

Crafty Fox Market's first outing at the National Theatre lands on the same day the building holds its very first props sale, which makes for one of the more interesting Sundays on the Southbank this summer. Forty independent designers and makers set out samples, end-of-line collections and the "beautifully imperfect" pieces that don't usually make it to a full-price stall — ceramics, jewellery, textiles and prints at up to 75% off.
It's the sort of market where the fun is in not quite knowing what you'll find, and the setting does a lot of the work: glass, river light, and the National's own terraces to wander with a coffee afterwards. Free in, no booking, and worth arriving early for the better samples rails.
