Outdoors · London

London Wetland Centre's half-term trail leans into autumn without a shred of irony: kids design willow wands, brew imaginary potions from wetland plants, and go hunting for fungi across the reserve's woodland edges. It runs the full half-term week, so there's no need to fight for a single Saturday slot.
What sets it apart from most "nature trail" events is how genuinely step-free it is — tarmacked main paths, level access to ground-floor hides, a lift to the upper visitor centre — so it works for wheelchair users and buggies without anyone needing to plan a workaround. Members go free; everyone else saves 10% booking online the day before.
