Exhibition · Leeds

Two leading silversmiths given the run of Temple Newsam's own exceptional silver holdings, and the results are properly site-specific — pieces that respond directly to the house's textures, patterns and 500-year history rather than just being hung alongside it. A behind-the-scenes film and the artists' sketches and test pieces sit alongside the finished work, so you get the whole process, not just the polish.
Worth building a day around: Temple Newsam's gardens are free to wander, and the house itself — all Tudor-Jacobean state rooms and Chippendale furniture — is one of Yorkshire's most underrated grand houses.
