Swansea Food & Drink Festival

Three streets in the city centre close to traffic and fill with the smell of frying, grilling and slow-simmering — street food traders, Welsh cheesemongers, craft cider and gin stalls, all mixed in with independent makers who don't usually get a city-centre pitch. It runs all weekend, entry's free, and dogs are welcome on a lead, so there's no real reason not to make an afternoon of it.

Come hungry rather than with a shopping list — the fun here is grazing your way from one stall to the next rather than beelining for a single stand. Bring cash for the smaller traders and grab a bench near Castle Square to watch the crowd go by.
