Stratford-upon-Avon Food Festival

Shakespeare's birthplace street gets taken over for a weekend by more than a hundred food and drink traders — artisan cheesemongers next to street-food vans, local breweries pouring alongside cookery demonstrations on an open-air stage. It's a proper town-wide event rather than a single fenced-off field, so you wander between stalls the same way you'd wander the shops.

Come hungry, come slow, and leave time to walk it off along the Avon afterwards — the river and the RSC are both a few minutes from the stalls if you want to turn it into a full day out.
