South of Scotland Dark Sky Festival

This inaugural festival turns the region's genuinely inky-dark skies into a ten-day programme of guided stargazing, astrophotography workshops and dusk red deer safaris — timed around a new moon and the October half-term.

It's a decentralised, open programme, so small operators and community groups across Galloway and the Borders each host their own event rather than one big ticketed hub.
