Outdoors · Snowdonia

A proper community walking festival rather than a commercial one — every walk is led by qualified volunteers, and whatever the festival makes gets ploughed straight back into next year's programme. Routes range from easy valley ambles around Betws-y-Coed to a stretch of the Snowdonia Slate Trail, so there's something whether you're after a gentle morning or a proper leg-stretch.
Based out of the village with walks fanning out to Capel Curig and beyond, it's a good one for turning up solo — everyone on the walk is there for the same reason, and the guides know the ground well enough to keep the group together and talking.
