RHS Hyde Hall Contemporary Craft & Design Fair

Around 150 contemporary craftmakers — ceramics, jewellery, glass, textiles, furniture — set up under semi-open marquees threaded through Hyde Hall's 365-acre garden, so you get a proper wander between stalls with live music and a food village to break it up.

It's a bank-holiday-weekend event, so pace it: come early to beat the crowds round the best stalls, then let the afternoon slow down over the food village. A garden ticket doubles as a garden visit, which makes the £16.80 feel like better value than a standard craft fair entry.
