Pittenweem Arts Festival

For eight days every August the whole of Pittenweem turns into one large, scattered gallery: front rooms, net lofts, garages and gardens across the village open their doors, with paintings, ceramics, textiles and prints from well over 150 artists on show. Nothing here is mass-produced or bought sight-unseen online — you talk to the person who made it, in a fishing village that's worth the trip in its own right.
Most venues are free to wander into, a £5 donation is suggested if you're parking, and a free accessible bus loops round the trail for anyone who needs it. Pair it with lunch by the harbour and a walk along the East Neuk coastal path for a full, unhurried day out.
