Wildflower Meadow Walk at Carew Castle

This August, Carew Castle's seasonal ranger leads a proper wildflower hunt through the meadows around the ruins — spotting and naming species that only turn up for a few weeks each summer, with butterfly mask-making thrown in for anyone under ten. It's a small, unfussy event, but the setting does a lot of the work: a Norman castle on one side, a tidal mill pond on the other.

Worth timing a wider Pembrokeshire day around — the coast path and Tenby are both close by, so treat this as the quiet morning stop before a bigger day out. Sessions run 11:30am–3pm, with a second date on 24 August if this one doesn't work.
