Great British Summer at Kenilworth Castle

Friday to Sunday through the summer holidays, Kenilworth's ruined red-sandstone towers get costumed performers, circus-skills sessions and old-fashioned fairground games, plus an activity passport for kids to stamp their way round the site.

It's a proper day out rather than a quick stop — bring a picnic for the Elizabethan garden and budget a good few hours. Term-time weekdays are quieter if you want the castle without the programme.
