Apple Day at Gunby Estate

Gunby's orchards and gardens put on a proper autumn show for Apple Day, with more than 50 varieties on display and a Makers Market of 25-plus craft and trade stalls spread through the grounds — plenty to justify a slow amble rather than a quick loop.

No need to pre-book — turn up and pay standard garden admission, or walk straight in if you're a National Trust member. The wider 1,500-acre estate makes it easy to stretch the visit into a proper walk if the weather's on your side.
