Grasmere Lakeland Sports & Show

One of the oldest traditional Lakeland shows still running, held right beneath the Langdale Pikes — fell racing, hound trails, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling, and a dog show that's as much a highlight as the sport. Free entry is new this year, which makes it an easy add to a Lake District weekend.

It's a proper community show rather than a spectator event behind barriers: pitch up on the grass, follow the racing round the fell, and expect to end up chatting to whoever's stood next to you.
