Coventry's slice of the national Heritage Open Days scheme, and it's a proper excuse to see the bits of the city that are usually locked up — a 15th-century timber-framed cottage, the newspaper archive, art deco interiors, and the War Memorial Park's Chamber of Silence among the "Everyday Histories" trail this year.
Every tour, talk and open door on the programme is free, so it's worth ten minutes scrolling the council's listing and picking two or three that catch your eye rather than trying to do all of it.
