Chesterfield Artisan Market

Chesterfield's Market Square fills up with more than 80 stalls on the last Sunday of the month — handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, artwork, homeware and plenty of good things to eat, all made by the people selling them. It's a proper browse-and-chat kind of market, small enough to do justice to in an hour but with enough on offer to lose an afternoon.

Free to attend and right in the town centre, it's an easy, budget-friendly outing to pair with a look at Chesterfield's famous crooked spire nearby.
