Candlelight concerts have become a genuinely lovely small-scale format: a live ensemble, hundreds of real candles, and a programme short enough to leave time for dinner either side. Vivaldi's Four Seasons is about as good a gateway into classical music as exists, and hearing it live in a Cambridge college hall rather than a concert barn makes it feel intimate rather than worthy.
Two sittings run back to back on the evening, so it's easy to build an evening in Cambridge around it — this is squarely one for couples or anyone who wants a date night with a bit more substance than a bar.
